Abstract
This thesis examines the alignment of popular political rock and teachings professed by Pope John Paul II surrounding three conflicts: The Troubles, The Falklands War, and the Cold War. Thematic topics include class struggle, the role of the Vatican as a global institution promoting peace and stability during the 1980s, and the trasatlanticism of the British popular rock.
