Water Quality Model of York River, Virginia
Hyer, Paul V.

Abstract
A ten-component timeĀ·-dependent Phytoplankton Ecosystem model was calibrated and verified for the York Estuary. Since the York is both wide and deep and is characterized by low dissolved oxygen levels in the deeper layer, this model has two layers and three compartments laterally per layer. The calibrated and verified model is suitable for use in studying water quality in the York, such as the.development of waste load allocations.
