Study of the Catalytic Abilities of Methyl-Functionalized & Dimethyl-Functionalized Iron Complexes for Proton Reduction

Wang, Jiashu
Abstract
A methyl-functionalized and a dimethyl-functionalized iron polypyridyl complexes are proposed to be electrocatalytically active for proton reduction. Based on data from electrochemical analysis by cyclic voltammtery (CV), the methyl-functionalized is proven to be an active electrocatalyst for proton reduction. Several spectroscopic techniques are used to help characterize the complexes.
