Bathymetric Line Chesapeake Bay
Abstract
This is a GIS layer showing the 1- and -2-meter low water contours that were created in support of the SAV (Submerged Aquatic Vegetation) goals by the Chesapeake Bay Program. The file was originally created in the mid – 1990s in ArcInfo as a coverage and then later converted to a shapefile. In 2010 the Shoreline Studies Program was given permission to use the data and convert it a KML format that can be viewed in Google earth. This bathymetric contours file covers the Chesapeake bay in Maryland and Virginia.
