Abstract
This thesis explores the intertextual relationship between Katherine Anne Porter and William Faulkner and argues that in the "Miranda Stories" Porter not only attempts to argue the validity of the woman writer's narrative voice, but posits a model of intertextuality akin to sibling rivalry.
