Peer-Review Process
Manuscripts go through a double-blind peer-review process that allows for multiple perspectives and opportunities for internships. The first step is a review by 2 – 3 emerging scholars with a wide range of experiences, disciplines, and focus areas. The completed rubric and feedback are then blindly distributed to two doctoral-level students who complete a final review. The Editorial Board reviews the final rubric, and authors will receive one of four decisions: (1) accept, (2) accept with minor revisions, (3) major revisions recommended, or (4) reject. If an editorial board member is a submitting author, they will recuse themselves from the review and decision-making process.
Our mission is to be educators and guide authors through the publication process. We will return major and minor revision requests with specific recommendations for strategic rewrites. However, we will reject articles we do not feel we can support. This allows us to provide extra attention to papers and enable authors to submit to journals that may be a better fit.
