Abstract

Rivers & Coast is a periodic publication of the Center for Coastal Resources Management, Virginia Institute of Marine Science. The goal of Rivers & Coast is to keep readers well informed of current scientific understanding behind key environmental issues related to watershed rivers and coastal ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay.

Description

The Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) was directed through the Tidal Wetlands Management Act (1972) to provide guidance for management decisions and maintain an ongoing inventory of wetlands. This issue highlands VIMS five decades of science that has supported Virginia as a leader in integrated and adaptive tidal wetlands management developments.
