Abstract
This project is focused on creating a successful lighting design for a play that would be performed mainstage at the College of William and Mary. Originally there were two plays to choose from for the spring semester of 2020. The first was Gem of the Ocean by August Wilson. This play is a one setting play with more emphasis on the set and acting than the lighting. The second was She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen. This play has a larger set opening up more options for the placement of lighting and opportunities for special effects. I choose the latter in favor of a more interesting lighting design. In light of Covid-19, this project is a collection of files regarding how I would design the play, rather than the actual performance itself.
