Abstract
This is the first part of a novel following the story of Lofton, a young prince in a fantasy realm who is sent to a foreign country to marry a princess he has never met. But once he gets there, he finds that things are not at all what he expected them to be-- the princess is irritable and entirely disinterested in him, and Lofton slowly comes to realize that he's been thrust into a story that's much bigger than him. A fantasy retelling of the Romeo and Juliet story from the perspective of the Paris character.
